The
‘Car’
“Is
that a ‘car’?”
“Yes,
Girlie, it is a car!”
“I
didn’t know there were any left.”
“This
one’s been trapped under that tree.
It’s a Japanese model. If
there’s fuel in the tank, we can drive back to civilization.”
“Japanese! Are you sure this isn’t a Fujiwara
trap?”
George
ran a scan.
“There’s
fuel in the tank. It’s our only
option, since your Space Folding System crashed."
I
zapped the branches delicately off the car with my spitfires. I had no idea how
to drive the thing, but George is an R7 Series Robot. He can literally do anything!

I love your sci-fi interpretation of the prompt--very entertaining!
ReplyDeleteThank you for being entertained. I am kind of stuck on these charactors as I am writing a slightly humorous sci fi novel starring 'Two Gun Girlie' and I just added the sidekick, George, our R7 Series Robot that featured in a lot of my stories last year. He's usually full of maxims....

ReplyDeleteIt's okay - I was pretty excited to see all the comments come in - but I have deleted the naughty copies.
DeleteHmm . . . I'd like to know more about the Space Folding System. That sounds like a cool idea.
ReplyDeleteAh now, you would have to be a sci fi enthusiast from the dawn of time to understand the 'Space Folding System'. It is a dream and an idea, almost like 'Cold Fusion', something that really cannot be achieved - but I have achieved it in my novel. It is going from point to point, but removing the space in between, or 'folding it' as Peachy Keen Technologies has done.
DeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThe R7s are amazing. Trouble is they've stolen all the good women from us mortal guys. Great and fun story! Ron
Thanks for enjoying it! I am sure there are some women who do not prefer a know it all Robot - and this one in particular prefers women!
ReplyDeleteimaginative. i like a guy --or in this case, robot-- who can drive anything. ^^
ReplyDeleteSo true, but I like a guy better, who will let me drive!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun, I wouldn't mind exploring that world more. Missing a quotation mark in the second to last paragraph, though?
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. I have put that quotation mark in. Hope you get a chance to explore that world one day...
ReplyDeleteGreat bit of sci-fi. R7 Series, eh? That's quite advanced, I think.
