FRIDAY FICTIONEERS - THE KILLER BEE AND ME - My 100 Words by LindaPalund

          THE KILLER BEE AND ME

"How the hell are we going to get that thing back home?"
"Relax, Girlie.  Remember,  I'm the brains of this outfit."
It was true. When the R7 Robots came in from the cold, George became my partner. I supplied the 'Two Gun Girlie' brawn and George supplied the R7 Robot brains.
      "What's your plan?"
"I'll jump on it's back and Zap it with your Stungun.  You grab its leg and Flip us back to the Hanger."
It's a good thing R7's are indestructible, because as soon as George pounced, that Bee took him for a ride George will never forget!

    1. Sadly, first you must be designed by Peachy Keen Technologies, found to be too perfect, you have to be exiled to Planet 9, the most desolate of the Border Planets, until you go mad. Then you are reprieved and moved to Mars where you redesign the biosphere and find happiness once more. Happiness to an R7 Series Robot is performing a useful function for mankind.

  6. A robot that calls his partner "Girlie," such a clever way of building the personality of each character!

    1. Thanks, Troy, but it so happens that everyone calls her Girlie, so her sidekick does too. He's a pretty sharp robot, just a little fool hardy...

  7. Dear Lindaura,

R7 Robots and wild riding bees, the stuff action, sci-fi fantasies are made of.

  8. Later on the R8 and R9 models came with Bee riding harnesses. Too bad R7 did not get the benefit if those.

    1. Yeah, those Killer Bees were created to Pollinate the strain of Balloon Flowers that later on destroy the world, but before that happened, the Robots had a lot of fun guiding them around with their Bee Riding harnesses.

  9. Hi Linda,
But what did they do with it when they got it back there? Bee pot pie? Bee stew? Bee soup? Tastes just like chicken! Ron

    1. Pretty funny, Ron, but the Killer Bees are part of a project of Peachy Keen Industries. They have bred the bees to pollenate the Balloon Flowers of Planet 8, one of the more fecund planets of the Border Planet cluster. This one escaped the Laboratory Confines of Peachy Keen Technologies and had to be flipped back pronto, before any competition spotted it. The Balloon Plant project was more than a dismal failure. It wound up wiping out half of our solar system before the R7's figured out a way to stop it.

  10. That's a story George will be telling his grandchildren one day.

  11. Sadly, poor George will never have any grand children, because he is a robot. But Two Gun Girlie likes to embarrass him with the story whenever he gets too high minded - usually in one of the bars on Mars.
